Facilities & Services
Meals
The package includes all meals and are prepared and served by the resorts at specific times. Feel free to let the resort know on arrival if you have specific dietary restrictions.
What to Expect
The resorts you will be staying at are backpacker resorts. The accommodation is often set in stunning settings and generally basic but this is where you will experience Fijian hospitality. You will get to meet and mingle with the local community who operate the resorts. The resorts may vary from week to week depending upon availability.
Accommodation
The choice of dormitory or Bure (cottages) accommodation is offered by most. All are fitted with mosquito nets however we do recommend bringing along insect repellent. Most bures feature a thatched roof and en-suite bathroom facilities. Water source for most resorts come from springs and hot water is not available. Electricity is supplied via generators from around sunset to midnight then its lights out.
Money
Credit cards and travellers cheques can be used on some island resorts but not all. Banks and ATM machines are only located on the mainland, Viti Levu. Be warned - it is a long way back from the Yasawa’s if you run out!
Sundays
The local Fijian communities are deeply religious hence Sunday is a day of rest and church going. The activities conducted during the weekdays are not on offer but you are free to do activities on your own. You would be most welcome to join the village community church service which is a great experience.
