Main area of focus in Caring for the Destination:
Low Impact Policy
Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
To preserve the natural environment and maintain a low impact, Barefoot Island Lodge bures do not have electricity and guests are handed torch lights. With little lighting available at night, guests can enjoy the spectacular views of the stars. Between the 2 beachfronts, trees of papaya, mango, banana and coconuts feel the lush gardens. This supplies the platter of fruits offered to guests daily. In order to conserve water, all bathroom facilities are communal. These measures help you experience Fiji’s wonderful and spectacular atmosphere and in turn safeguards the environment for future generations.
