Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
Have an extra relaxing trip knowing that you are staying at an environmentally friendly resort. By protecting and caring for our destination, we provide guests with well maintained surroundings for an even better holiday getaway. At Matava resort we have adopted conservation awareness, and waste management (recycling) programmes at the resort and with local villages. Our lighting is primarily solar, with additional kerosene lanterns if required. All rubbish is sorted, food waste is fed to local pigs, and we compost as much waste as possible. Have a pleasurable holiday, while minimizing your environmental impact.
